Garden Weddings on the Monterey Peninsula
Although we have some beautiful wedding venues in our area, we don't have a lot that we would consider "garden properties." Below are venues where we have hosted weddings or been part of the vendor team:
• La Playa Hotel (Carmel with expansive gardens in their courtyard - the perfect setting for family photos and couples portraits)
• Memory Gardens (In historic downtown Monterey and just a one-minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf. They have a private courtyard where you can have a large ceremony and a catered event all in the same space. Great for walking into downtown bars/pubs after the wedding or to one of the many hotels within walking distance. Rental rates start at $2,000.
• Old Monterey Inn (B&B in a residential corner of Monterey with a beautiful garden perfect for smaller weddings. As part of their package, you need to buy out their entire property).
• Jabberwock Inn (B&B which is also in a residential part of Monterey but closer to Cannery Row. Small garden area works well for weddings with 10 or fewer people present and best to book out the property as well for privacy in their common areas)
• Folktale Winery (Not so much a garden, but their lawn area used for weddings is very scenic, albeit mostly the vineyard. Better for larger weddings of 50 or more people due to their site fees)
