Monterey County Wedding Locations

Monterey county is a very diverse area. If you come to visit or you are a current resident, you will find that you can be driving along the ocean in Monterey and within 20 minutes be viewing the countryside (and warmer weather) of Carmel Valley. As you cut down Highway 1 and head further south, you are in the magical 90-mile stretch of coastline known as Big Sur. From the mountains to the valleys, sunshine and fog, forest and grassy knolls, the Monterey Peninsula has a setting for everyone.

Carmel Wedding Venues

When most people think of Carmel, they think of Carmel-by-the-Sea, a one square mile pocket of paradise, highlighted by Carmel Beach. There are a lot of beautiful Carmel wedding venues, though, along with the white sands of Carmel Beach. Some of the venues in Carmel include:

• Hotels with beautiful gardens
• Parks with majestic trees and colorful flowers
• A winery with ceremony sites set amongst the vines and in a room surrounded with wine barrels.
• A redwood grove
• A sheep filled pasture with a barn

Monterey Wedding Venues

People visiting our area, tend to say, "We are going to Monterey" even though they may be going to one of the other Peninsula cities. Monterey is the first main city you view when heading south on Highway 1. Some of the most popular Monterey wedding venues are:

• Hotels with outdoor patios / decks overlooking the ocean
• Historic museums with rose gardens
• Large outdoor gardens
• Golf courses with mountain views
• Historic homes with ocean views

Pacific Grove Wedding Venues

Known to locals as "P.G.," wedding venues in Pacific Grove are a bit fewer and far between but still beautiful. The really nice thing about Pacific Grove is that it is a smaller, quiet town which can help to deliver a most romantic wedding ceremony. Some of the popular spots include:

• Large parks with wide expanses of grass and ocean views
• A variety of beaches - some with large wave patterns and others that are quiet and peaceful
• A gazebo overlooking the ocean (for small weddings with less than 12 people)

• Historic B&B's with indoor and outdoor locations
• Restaurants with private rooms

Big Sur Wedding Venues

We love Big Sur! Driving along the coast is like being on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. There are so many beautiful, rustic and quiet areas in which to have a wedding including:

• Forest trails that lead to a cliffside with panoramic ocean views
• Picnic areas inside of a state park
• Redwood Groves
• Restaurants with private areas with ocean views
• Smaller places for elopements that are completely tucked away
• A grassy knoll overlooking the Big Sur River
• Private homes with incredible ocean views

Carmel Valley Wedding Venues

Visiting Carmel Valley is like going somewhere hours and hours away -- even though their downtown is just about 20 minutes from Carmel! Warmer weather, rustic charm, jaw dropping wedding venues and delightful restaurants for receptions and rehearsals can all be found in this unique location.

• A hotel, up in the hills, with its own outdoor chapel
• A venue so private that you pass through two gates (and security) before being allowed to enter.
• A wedding site with its own river, pool, and housing for your bridal party!
• Three, four-star resorts with all of the amenities and views of lakes, golf courses, and vineyards.

At Weddings in Monterey, we have a private list of over 150 outdoor locations and over 45 indoor locations for your wedding including Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Marina, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach and Big Sur.
