Wedding Venues on the Monterey Peninsula
Since 2010, we have planned and set up weddings in over 150 different locations throughout Monterey County, stretching from the beaches of Marina down to the rugged coastline in Big Sur. One of the first steps in your planning process, after you have some dates in mind, is to find your ideal wedding location.
Where you get married can depend on the size of your wedding. If you decide to invite 300 guests, your wedding venue options will be a bit more limited due to capacity restrictions. For a small elopement, the possibilities are nearly endless. In our photo gallery (below), we have the most popular types of places to get married in Monterey County. We also included information on our local destinations, including wedding venues in Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur.
How much is it going to cost? Well, that depends again on the size of your wedding and the type of venue you want to get married in. Hotels and venues will be more expensive than parks, cliffs, and beaches. In the end, we haven't had much trouble finding something special for all of our couples.
Wedding site fees vary by location and range from a few that are still "free" to over $10,000. On average, a beach or park rental will range from $400 to $1,100, while a hotel or venue that includes a reception space can be closer to $2,500 and up (averaging closer to $4,500). We are fully insured as a wedding company to meet the requirements of any location you choose.
We are here to help you find the perfect Monterey County wedding venue. For some couples, it has to be the beach, feet in the sand, ocean breezes, and great views. Others might love the ocean view but not be interested in having everyone trek down to the beach. We have talked to some brides who really value privacy, so having the ceremony in a church or a private venue is ideal.
When it comes to finding the perfect location for your wedding in Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, or anywhere in between, just let us know how we can help your dream location become a reality. Keep in mind that although we list some locations on our site, we currently have a complete list of 150 outdoor wedding venues and 45 indoor venues for a ceremony in Monterey County, and we couldn't list them all.
What about the wedding reception? Many of the wedding venues in the Monterey area offer sites for your reception as well. For some, you will be taking advantage of their in-house culinary team, while others will allow you to bring in your own caterer (and we have an excellent list of local catering teams). For some of the smaller hotels and churches, as well as beach and park locations, we can either help you find a restaurant with a private or semi-private room for your wedding reception or a special place where your dream lunch or dinner can be catered. You can also use our reception planning module to help you find the perfect location.
