Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park

Big Sur is a beautiful place to visit and an even more incredible place to have your wedding. Within the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, they allow weddings in two areas: The Redwood Grove (picnic area) and the overlook at McWay Walls (80 foot waterfall). Both are peaceful places to say your vows. Although there is no beach access, another popular spot for Photos is located nearby at Pfeiffer Beach (an additional permit may be needed at this area). For these two areas, there permit fees vary but average from $275-$375 plus a one time, non refundable $125 processing fee. There are several limitations including size of the wedding (30 or less) and props (no chairs - unless needed for persons with disabilities, no decorations, no arches etc..) and no alcohol. Flowers are allowed (bouquets and boutonnieres) but no rose petals. Weddings must end by no later than sunset and no refunds for inclement weather (so best for weddings from mid-May - the end of September and also weekdays as the weekends can get to be pretty busy with tourists.
